Blog Post 2- Show Jumping Article

Some new info i learned from this article and some others:

  • Jumps in a competition course can't exceed 5'3 high
  • A puissance competition judges a horse's jumping ability using progressively more difficult courses.
  • The first time jumping was in the olympics was the 1900 Paris games.
  • All international shows are run by the International Equestrian Federation (FEI)
  • Jumping events became a lot more popular in the 1960s
  • Show Jumping started in 1869 in London.
  • First Show Juming competition was held at the Agricultural Hall Society in London
